Arguments:
COOKED Read COOKED sectors. i.e. 2048 bytes of CD-ROM data.
* RAW Read RAW sectors. i.e. 2352 bytes of CD-ROM including SYNC
HEADER etc., or 2352 bytes of CD-DA 44100Hz sample data.
* VOC Read RAW sectors and store them in SoundBlaster .VOC
'Creative Voice' format file.
* WAV Read RAW sectors and store them in Microsoft .WAV
'WAVE' format file.
'*' Denotes functions avaliable only in PRO version.
Options:

* -o Write old style VOC header (1.10) (forces 8 bit scaling).
* -r Read RIGHT channel only. Stored as STEREO image with digital
silence in LEFT channel. Applies to any RAW format.
* -R Read RIGHT channel only. Stored as MONO image. Applicable as above.
'*' Denotes functions avaliable only in PRO version.
Notes:
Commands may be bundled together, but there can be only one command requiring
arguments in the bundle... e.g. 'CDGRAB clp 3 5' closes the door, locks
it and plays tracks 3 to 5. 'CDGRAB rp 3 5' fails because the 'r' command
needs different arguments from 'p'. 'CDGRAB pr 3 5' plays tracks 3 to 5
and then fails for the same reason.
Redirecting the output of the 'd' command (e.g. 'CDGRAB d > MYDRIVE.TXT')
causes some extra fields to be added to the text, concerning drive make/model
etc. Since MSCDEX provides no mechanism for obtaining this information, the
output file will have to be edited, and the details inserted. In order to build
up a database of drive/driver capabilities it would be most helpful if you
could run this command and E-Mail it back to us. The database will be posted
on the Internet from time to time (in alt.cdrom).
There is a PRO version avaliable which has the following additional features:
read DA (Digital Audio) sectors in RAW format
read DA sectors to a SoundBlaster VOICE (.VOC) file
read DA sectors to a Microsoft WAVE (.WAV) file
There will be a charge for these features, as we feel that the only people
who would be interested in them are professionals who are going to use them
as tools in their work. They were also the most difficult and expensive to
implement, and there is a lot of scope for additional development in this
area, which obviously has to be paid for... If you are interested in the PRO
version, please e-mail me for further details.
